The Eyes Have It

One of my favorite all time shots happened on a last minute shoot before the holidays. A referral from a friend brought Lisa, Charles and little Ian into my home for some Christmas pictures. What a joy. After all who could pass up eyes like these and a little boy who was remarkable patient.

Ian had a lot of fun with our collection of Nutcrackers.

One of the things I love most about photography are the gifts. I don't mean physical gifts, I mean those moments, like rainbows and georgeous sunsets that appear for only a moment and then disappear. Two Christmas Cuties

This is Owen's debut. You may have seen pictures of the nicest friend in the whole world before, ...her name is Cindy. But this photo shoot hightlights her main man. You may ask why is she the nicest, let me just say on the friendship scale of 1 to 10 she is a 20. She has watched our daughter Sophia a couple times a month or more since she was born. This allows Chuck and me some much needed date nights. Sophia LOVES aunt Cindy, and so do we. So when Cindy asked me to photograph the new man in her life, Owen, I was thrilled to do it.

A Poodle in Every Color

What fun it was to photograph the three Shaw Poodles. Not having any dogs of my own, I was amazed at the different personalities of these cuties.

Allow me to introduce you to Queen Isabella. Bob & Karen call her Bella, and she was no stranger to the camera. This statuesque beauty was so much fun. The later afternoon sun and snow was an ideal setting for her.

We came inside and she decided to recline on the sofa and pose for a few more.

Next up was Lilly. A stark contrast to Bella in more ways than just her coal black coat. Lilly is like a child with a lot of energy to burn. We captured her with great success, but it was only after a few shots of a black spot sprinting accoss the white snow.

Again, when she came in to recline, she was a perfect model.

Last but not least was Gabriel. His demeanor was more introspective and inquisitive. His chocolate brown regal stature was stunning against the white snow, but alas you will have to wait for that. Here he is for his indoor pose.

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted anything. Christmas is a very busy time for photographers it seems. But as the sessions are winding up, Christmas cards are in the mail, and gifts are printed, framed and wrapped. I'm finding a few golden moments to blog.

Kiwi Family

What a fun time it was doing the Kiwi Family's photo shoot. No that is not their real name, but the real one is long and I was given instruction years ago that Kiwi was perfectly acceptable. Anne and I go way back, but we haven't seen each other since her and Tom were married. Then a couple years ago sweet angel Gabriel was born. His birthday is 10 days before Sophia. What a joy.

So I was thrilled to learn that they wanted me to take their family photos. We started off at our pond, but the day was a bit rainy and cold so we didn't stay out too long. I wanted to do a couple of test shots of the girls who both told me they weren't photogenic. You can easily see they were mistaken. This is Jamie.

I just love the interaction between family members. It is clear these two big sisters love their little brother dearly.

We brought along some Nutcrackers to our second location.
